On February 28, the construction of main structure of Foshan Metro Line 2 interchange pathway in Guangzhou South Railway Station officially started, which means that passengers can interchange between Foshan Metro Line 2 and Guangzhou Metro Line 2, 7 and 22 within the station in the future, which will significantly reduce the interchange time and make intercity travel more convenient.

The interchange pathway in Guangzhou South Railway Station has always been the common expectation for both Foshan and Guangzhou citizens. But due to the multiple issues like high construction difficulty, complicated coordination and massive metro lines involved,,the connection has not been finished by now. To overcome such issues, the general manager department of the Foshan EPC project of CCCC Urban Investment Holding Co., Ltd. has united all participating companies, and set up special design and construction teams accordingly to solve them one by one.
