Foshan rescue teams dispatched to plane crash site in Guangxi

March 21 has been a high-strung day for everyone in China. MU5735, a China Eastern Airlines Boeing 737 aircraft, with 132 people aboard, which departed from Kunming and was bound for Guangzhou, crashed in Tengxian County in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region at 2:38 p.m.


Right after the incident, President Xi Jinping has ordered an immediate launch of an emergency response, with all-out search and rescue efforts, and the proper settlement of the aftermath, according to Xinhua. Till now, passenger plane's wreckage has been found at the crash site and the rescue work is now on the run.


According to Foshan Municipal Bureau of Emergency Management, 18 well-trained resue members have been sent in a mission out in the forest to back up the search work by local police and fire department. Two pickup trucks, one information command vehicle and one troop carrier have also been allocated to facilitate the rescue work, at the possibly fullest capacity.


  


In addition to responsive government support, Foshan citizens have also actively joined in the resue. Foshan Pineapple Rescue Team, for example, has sent 5 people at 8 pm out on the road to the site.


"We were requested by Guangxi Blue Sky Rescue Association. We went there for drone search and rescue." Li Lin, member from Foshan Pineapple Rescue Team. The team carried 3 drones and is now working in the frontline.
