Every August marks the blossom season for lotus flowers. In Shuangyong, a small village in Gaoming, a lotus plantation base, which covers 300,000 square meters, has made a record for producing over 60,000 cut flowers each day. The location  has a dozen ponds, growing different varieties of lotus. 

        As they dragged a floating bucket, local farmers walk in the waist-deep water and carefully peel off the buds. The flowers give off strong fragrance in the air. Normally, the beautiful plants come to blossoms from 6 to 8 in the morning, primairily from March to July. Farmers have to work against the clock and each of them can pick up five or six thousand lotus flowers per day.
