Inside the wooden fence of the Binjiang Wetland Park in Foshan New City, several sika deer leisurely stroll and graze on the lush green grass. These docile deer are not afraid of people, so visitors can interact with them by petting, feeding, and taking photos.

On the other side of the lawn, there are squirrel houses and a squirrel runway set up among the verdant trees. Playful little squirrels run freely, weaving through the greenery in the city.

With exceptional ecological environment and these adorable little creatures, the green wonderland offers you a relaxing trip to explore the harmonious coexistence of human and nature.

The Binhe Hydrophilic Demonstration Platform in Foshan New City aims to improve the urban and rural quality of Lecong Town, Shunde District. By fully utilizing the existing intertidal land and retaining its wetland function, the project plans to introduce some small animals to create a good destination for leisure, entertainment, and close interaction with nature for the citizens of Foshan New City.

The section is divided into two parts: the Squirrel Island and the Deer Island. The Deer Island is located north of the lawn by a swimming pool (formerly an ecological intertidal island), covering an area of about 13,000 square meters. Squirrel Island is located northeast of the swimming pool (formerly a mangrove island) with an area of about 4,000 square meters.

By now, the construction of the Deer Island and Squirrel Island has been completed, with 10 sika deer and 50 squirrels introduced and raised by professionals. The park is now officially open to the public free of charge, so visitors can visit and have fun whenever they want.

Deer Island

Inside the Deer Island, there exist scenic bridges, a deer shed, a garden path, revetment, waterside plats, fences and a pigeon house. Once completed, visitors can board the island to view and feed migratory birds and deer.

Squirrel Island

Inside the Squirrel Island, there are pine trees, squirrel feeding houses, a runway for squirrels and a hydrophilic platform. Meanwhile, the park has repaired and upgraded the decaying wooden plank road to optimize the viewing experience, so that they can observe and feed squirrels along the surrounding garden path.
