Tourism recommendation for Foshan Qiuse Event in Xiqiao, Nanhai

From November 1 to 5, Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Week, as well as the Foshan Qiuse Parade will be grandly launched in Foshan. Apart from the main venue in Foshan’s CBD, Xiqiao Town will serve as the sub-venue, bringing this exciting event to Nanhai District. 


The parade route for Xiqiao will depart from Tingyin Square and span 3.2 kilometers. The route covers 5 performance spots, at Guanxin Town, Yunmen Archway, Tianzhen Mountain Park, Xiqiao Citizen Square and Dengshan Avenue. Here are some iconic attractions along the route that you should not miss. 


Tingyin Square


Located in the northwest of Xiqiao Mountain, Tingyin Lake Area is surrounded by the unique view and cultural element of Xiqiao Mountain, national AAAAA class tourism attraction. Multiple iconic Lingnan-style architectures like Feihong Hall, Qiaoshan Cultural Center are laid around the vast 27-hectare lake.   



Recently, Xiqiao Town has introduced nighttime entertainment in this area. As a result, Tingyin Lake Area has been listed in the first batch of Foshan’s nighttime culture and tourism consumption gathering area in June 2022, which was the only attraction in Nanhai District.


Guanxin Town


Situated at the root of Xiqiao Mountain, Guanxin Town embraces 500-meter shoreline. It covers five major fields, including hotel service, culture and art, fitness regime, children training center and catering. 



Guanshan Fair


Guanshan Fair is one of the eldest fairs in Xiqiao, which could date back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was known as the base for traditional silk industry, also a busy agricultural product market for nearby residents. 



After years of development, Guanshan Fair now still maintains its dominant reputation, as the business center of Xiqiao, with several supermarket prosperous in the area. Its popularity still prevails regardless of time.


Yunmen Archway


Yunmen Archway is the gate of Xiqiao Mountain. With red imitation stone column on sides and glass ridge on top, the archway is delivering a sense of power to dignity. Additionally, the golden calligraphy “Xiqiao Mountain” by famous writer Guo Moruo on the front, and the calligraphy “Yunmen” by Scholar Zhan Ruoshui in the Ming Dynasty also add some cultural dressing to this attraction. 



Baiyun Cave


Situated in the north side of Xiqiao Mountain, Baiyun cave was known for its fruitfull religious cultures in Ming Dynasty. Nowadays, it includes three sub-caves and 24 scenes in total. Thousands-of-mile Waterfall is one the iconic scenes.



Tianzhenfeng Park


Covering a land of 20k square meter, Tianzhenfeng Park is equipped with various facilities like waterfall, flower corridor, granite square, etc, which is the perfect place to enjoy the nighttime view in Xiqiao.



Xiqiao Citizen Square


Xiqiao Citizen Park incorporates two main areas, Citizen Square and Citizen Park. Characterized with Lingnan-style architectures, Citizen Park includes activity square, open stage, corridors, etc, creating a leisure place for public amusement.



Hundred-step Ladder


Hundred-step Ladder was one of four ancient paths of Xiqiao Mountain. Built in the Ming Dynasty, it starts from archway in Guanshan Fair and ends at Yunquan Cave, spanning over thousands of steps. Before the completion of Guanshan Avenue, it is the only way to climb up Guanshan Mountain. 



Guanshan Avenue Archway


In 1979, mountain road was built, allowing visitors drive to the top. In 1982, mountain road was further upgraded to Guanshan Avenue, making the climbing more convenient and comfortable.
