Northern Foshan Strategic New Industrial Park (hereinafter referred to as NFSNIP) with a total planning zone of 487 square kilometers has been approved by Guangdong Provincial Government to be included in the large industrial cluster zones of Guangdong, which will be actively built into a strategic emerging industry cluster, cultivate a new economic growth pole in Foshan, and shape a new pattern of high-quality development of manufacturing industry.

NFSNIP straddles Nanhai District and Sanshui District, of which 54 square kilometers of land for immediate construction is in line with the current planning, and 300 square kilometers of land for long-term planning, with sufficient space for incremental construction land.

It designates one core starting zone and nine core zones, covering a total area of 108 square kilometers. The core starting zone is Yundonghai Bio-port of Foshan National High-tech Zone, while the 9 core zones include Datong Lake Technology Industrial Park of Foshan National High-tech Zone, Datang New Materials Industrial Park, China (Sanshui) International Beverage and Food Base, Baini Julong Bay Intelligent Equipment Industrial Park, Hub City of Foshan West Railway Station, Nanhai Electronic Information Industrial Park, Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway Guanjiao Logistics Park, Shishan New Materials Industrial Park and Danzao New Energy Industrial Base.

NFSNIP emphasizes breaking new grounds. Great efforts will be made with focuses on biomedical industry and the introduction of emerging strategic industries such as high-end facilities, electronic information and new-energy vehicles. Great importance should be attached to the transformation and upgrade of traditional industries such as the specific equipment manufacturing, ceramic sanitary ware, metal building materials, food and beverage and support tertiary industries in logistics, and science and technology.
