Last week, Guangdong hosted an event in Shenzhen’s Qianhai to further cooperation between the Guangdong Free Trade Zone and the joint development zones, and promote the integration of policies, industrial development between the two zones.

The event lasted for two days, including a forum, several visits and learning sessions in Qianhai, as well as observation activities on institutional innovation. Through these forms, efforts were made to actively establish a collaborative mechanism between the FTZ and the joint development zones, share experiences in institutional innovation and coordinated development, and accelerate project cooperation, resource sharing, and common development between the two zones.

Zhang Jinsong, the Director-General of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce, pointed out that the Guangdong FTZ had achieved fruitful results over the past eight years, with a total of 696 institutional innovations, laying a solid foundation for the construction of the joint development zones.

Representatives from 3 FTZ areas of Nansha, Qianhai-Shekou, and Hengqin, and from 38 relevant areas, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shantou, Foshan, Shaoguan, Huizhou, Shanwei, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Yangjiang, Zhanjiang, and Maoming, and experts and scholars, participated in this event.
