Representatives of five enterprises based in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) participated in the GBA-EEC business collaboration project and visited the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) of Thailand from June 25 to 28. Organized by the Royal Thai Consulate General in Guangzhou, the project aims to enhance the cooperation between Thailand's EEC and the GBA.

Jiraporn Sudanich, Consul General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Guangzhou, led representatives from five enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), on the GBA-EEC Business Cooperation Promotion Project.

According to the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou, the participants are involved in electronics, machinery, trading and supply chain management. They are interested in the latest development in Thailand and are looking for opportunities to set up overseas manufacturing branches for electronic parts in the EEC.

The EEC covers three eastern provinces of Thailand including Rayong, Chonburi, and Chachoengsao and envisages economic transformation through a series of infrastructure construction and advantageous policies. The partnership between the GBA and EEC, which are respectively the key economic development areas of China and Thailand, has been a focal point of the bilateral ties in recent years.

The participants met with officers of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) and the Thailand Industrial Estate Authority to receive updates on the development of the EEC and Thailand, especially on the business environment for advanced tech companies. Moreover, they visited the industrial parks located in the EEC, including Amata City Chonburi and AMATA - Pinthong Industrial Estates, to better understand the facilities and services available for business.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou is determined to continue with the GBA-EEC business collaboration project to expand business cooperation opportunities between the GBA and Thailand, and foster communication and collaboration between relevant departments of GBA and Thailand. This aims to enhance the potential for future investments by Chinese enterprises in Thailand, particularly in the EEC.
