Foshan is ramping up efforts to attract more investment and 35 business delegation teams have gone to 11 provinces recently. The tour marks Foshan's latest bid to attract more companies to settle in the city and promote its economic development with the aim of 400 billion yuan investment in 2023.

Joint comprehensive action to seek more investment

In order to make concrete moves in 2023, Guangdong Province has issued supportive polices to intensify efforts to pursue growth at a conference on high-quality development on January 28, the first working day after the Spring Festival holiday. Right after the conference, Foshan has made the first move, conducting in-depth exchanges with high-tech industrial parks in major cities.

As the coordinating department, Foshan Investment Promotion Bureau will focus on major projects and high-end industries such as NEVs, equipment manufacturing, biomedicine, new materials, to foster more stable growth, build a more reasonable structure and optimize the business environment.

Apart from sending delegations across the country, Foshan will also take comprehensive action at the district and town levels. Additionally, delegations with district and town leaders will take the initiative to visit investors of major projects, to strengthen the publicity of investment environment, promote supportive policies and city images.

Investment promotion as top priority: exceed 400 bln yuan

The Economic Work Conference held on January 28 proposed that Foshan should look up to Hefei in Anhui Province. In 2022, Hefei has signed investment of nearly 500 billion yuan, while Foshan was 346.598 billion yuan. We must adhere to the principle that "attracting investment is the first priority".

At the conference, 20 major projects were signed to launch in Foshan, with a total investment of 144.5 billion yuan and involving fields such as new energy, new materials, advanced manufacturing and so on.

One one hand, among the projects there are leading enterprises like world's top 500 enterprises and China's top 500 enterprises, indicating that Foshan has made great efforts in creating a first-class business environment in the past two years, and the construction of "Good for you" Enterprise Service System has been recognized by the majority of investors.

On the other hand, these projects embrace a large investment scale and strong radiation capacity. There are 16 projects with an investment of more than 5 billion yuan, which will inject new momentum into the high-quality development of Foshan's manufacturing industry.
